Beverley Mitchell confided to fans that after miscarrying twins four months ago , her family is incomplete.

The "7th Heaven" star and mom to Kenzie, 5, and Hutton, 4, wrote in an incredibly personal essay on her blog and

that she's been missing what or who might have been.

"I've been struggling, I'm physically fine but my heart hurts, and my mind is tired. My husband is a saint and has been so kind and supportive; he lets me feel what I need to but is there to pick up the pieces and just hold me. I look at our two beautiful [kids] and I am so incredibly gratefulbut in my heart I know we are not complete, I so strongly feel there is another little soul waiting to join our family, and that is where I struggle."

The actress said she didn't want sympathy from anyone, only acknowledgement that the miscarriage happened. "… because what hurts the most is the dismissal of it," she said.

Mitchell, 38, wrote that she let resurfaced grief wash over her this week, even as it caused intense sadness.

"Everyone grieves differently and what has thrown me off is I honestly felt that I had gotten through that process, but it snuck up on me," Mitchell wrote. "I find myself yearning for those babies I see everywhere, and my heart hurts. And this week I let it hurt. I gave myself a week to feel it all, the sadness, the exhaustion, the pure frustration."

Mitchell urged readers who are suffering to take the time they need to "feel it all."

"Children begin by loving their parents; as they grow older they judge them; sometimes they forgive them." - Oscar Wilde

"Give yourself a minute, sometimes life sucks but in the same breath life can be pure MAGIC. So let yourself feel, but also allow yourself to be open to the beauty and the magic too," she wrote. "Because in the darkness there is the beauty of the light!"
